Geoff Smithgsmith@cincconsult.com |
In a 25-year career at P&G, Geoff progressed through a variety of IT, business and leadership responsibilities, ultimately reaching the role of Deputy CIO. In this role, he ran the office of the CIO – responsible for P&G’s global IT strategy, enterprise architecture and advanced technology evaluation.
Most of Geoff’s career at P&G focused on improving business results through the innovative use of technology in sales and marketing. From 1997-2002, Geoff led the development of Procter’s customer and consumer-facing e-business solutions. This included relaunching the company’s website, as well as creating an innovative system for distributors in emerging markets that managed $2 billion/year in P&G sales. The distributor system received industry-wide recognition, winning CIO Magazine’s Enterprise Value Award in 1998.
Geoff has more than 15 years of global/international experience, including four years based in Asia. While serving as the CIO of P&G’s $2 billion Japan subsidiary, his IT organization met the ultimate business disaster recovery challenge – quickly restoring P&G’s operations in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated Kobe in 1995.
